I've been conducting these courses over the past 15-years or so in Oregon, Washington, and Arizona.

This course does NOT include any Driver training- it focuses on the duties of the pump operator.

This course meets the NFPA and Oregon DPSST standards. While the requirements of the NFPA standard are met, the focus is on real-life hands-on apparatus operator skills. We delve behind the pump panel to understand how the pump and accessories operate and the principles of hydraulics- most of the time is in the field with hands-on exercises. From the basics to relay pumping, our goal is to develop a foundation for compentent pump operators....not just 'knob turners'.

We stress that the apparatus operator's job is not over when an effective fire stream is developed... but it is just starting- that a multitude of other tasks will also need to be completed to support a fireground operation.
